Çorum Festivals and Events
From the Hittite Fair and Festival to district harvest celebrations — Çorum's yearly festival calendar, with which event is usually held in which month.
Çorum's events calendar opens in March with the çiğdem (crocus) festivities, continues through spring with Hattuşa and youth-focused events, but is busiest in late summer and autumn. From the big festival in the centre to the districts' highland and harvest celebrations and the traditional gatherings organised by village associations, the city offers a colourful programme through the year. International Çorum Hittite Fair and Festival
The province's biggest event. With a procession, folk dances, the Ottoman mehter band, artisan stalls, concerts and a fair ground, it is the peak of the city's summer calendar. Organised by Çorum Municipality and held every year for decades.
Traditional Çiğdem (Crocus) Festival
Organised by Çorum Governorship and Çorum Municipality, this traditional festival celebrates the blooming of the çiğdem (crocus), a herald of spring, marked with communal food.
Hattuşa Tourism Days
An annual event organised by Boğazkale Municipality to promote Hattuşa, the ancient Hittite capital on the UNESCO World Heritage List.
Hittite Road Youth Walk
Organised by the Çorum Provincial Directorate of Culture and Tourism to coincide with Turkey's 19 May Commemoration of Atatürk, Youth and Sports Day, this youth event follows a roughly 41 km history-and-nature route around Hattuşa; first held in 2025, with a second edition in 2026.
Traditional Osmancık Hıdırellez Festivities
Osmancık Municipality's celebration of Hıdırellez (6 May), a traditional spring festival bringing the community together.
Dedesli Turkmen Festival
Organised by an association of Turkmen villages on the Dedesli plain, this festival keeps the region's Turkmen culture alive.
Boğazkale Bükme Festival Cultural Events
Cultural events organised by Boğazkale Municipality that showcase the district's local culture and produce.
Traditional Elvan Çelebi Culture, Arts, Sports and Commemoration Events
A three-day event organised by the Mecitözü district governorship, including commemoration programmes for Elvan Çelebi, a mehter band performance, an art exhibition and sports activities.
Kalecikkaya Crimean Tatar Tepreş Culture Festival
A traditional tepreş (spring gathering) festival organised by the village association, keeping alive the Crimean Tatar heritage of Kalecikkaya village.
Traditional Çaldağ Yayla Festival
A community-led festival in the Tekmen area of Osmancık that highlights highland (yayla) culture and solidarity.
Dodurga Togetherness, Solidarity and Culture Festivities
Traditional cultural festivities organised by Dodurga Municipality that bring together district residents and those living elsewhere.
İskilip Dolması Culture and Arts Festival
Named after the district's signature registered dish, İskilip dolması; known for servings cooked in huge cauldrons, cultural programmes and tours through İskilip's historic fabric.
Beyoğlu Yayla and Culture Festivities
Traditional highland-culture festivities organised by Uğurludağ Municipality on the Beyoğlu yayla (highland pasture).
Alaca Festival
Alaca Municipality's first-ever festival, held to celebrate the district's cultural richness and unity; it took place at Cumhuriyet Square with tradesperson and producer stalls and day-long events.
Osmancık Pırlanta Rice Culture and Arts Festival
Celebrates the geographically registered Osmancık rice. Timed to the harvest, it combines oil wrestling, communal pilaf and events around Koyunbaba.
Oğuzlar Altınkoz Culture and Arts Festival (Walnut Festival)
Officially named the "Altınkoz Culture and Arts Festival" and popularly known as the "Oğuzlar Walnut Festival", this harvest celebration honours the geographically registered Oğuzlar walnut. Exact dates vary by year, falling anywhere from late September to mid-October.
Age-old Kargı Fair (panayır)
A fair rooted in a long tradition, known for trade, local produce and folk entertainment. Listed as an October event on the official calendar of the Çorum Provincial Directorate of Culture and Tourism.
Ortaköy-Şapinuva-İncesu Canyon Culture and Arts Events
Organised by Ortaköy Municipality to promote the district's Şapinuva archaeological site and İncesu Canyon through culture and arts programmes.
Çorum Minstrels' (Âşıklar) Gathering
Organised by the Çorum Anatolian Folk Minstrels Culture Association, this gathering keeps alive the traditional art of the âşık (bard) and saz poetry.
Sungurlu village festivities
Local festivities led by village associations across Sungurlu (such as Gülderesi village's Traditional Spring and Culture Festivities), highlighting solidarity and local culture.
Hitit University Science and Technology Festival
An academic event organised by the university, with science, technology and career-focused stalls and talks.
