Hitit University is a state university in Çorum. It takes its name from theHittite civilisation whose capital the province once hosted, and is one of Çorum's most important institutions.
📜 Founding
The university was founded in 2006. Its core units (Theology, Economics and Administrative Sciences, Engineering and others) had previously belonged toGazi University; in 2006 they were separated and brought together under Hitit University. The Faculty of Theology is regarded as one of its oldest units.

The university has 11 faculties:

In recent years the university has had around 19,000 students, with a growing number of international students. This young population is an important social and economic boost for Çorum, while the district vocational schools extend higher education beyond the centre.
